Evidence Leads in Education

Central to the ethos of Alexandra Park is the desire to grow with, and support, others. Two members of our Senior leadership team, Hayley Wood and Sarah Cresswell, are working as Evidence Leads in Education (ELEs) and support schools to implement an evidence-informed approach to school improvement, as well as delivering the EEF training programmes as part of our role as an Associate Research School.

The main purpose of an ELE is to support school leaders throughout Greater Manchester and Stockport, in using evidence-based practice in their own context to enable school improvement. ELEs are experts in using research and evidence to inform practice in the classroom, and combine their knowledge, interpersonal skills, and coaching skills to help to make evidence-based practice a reality in as many schools as possible.

Working alongside an Evidence Lead offers an innovative approach, promoting evidence-informed decisions to help tackle the challenges faced in your individual school context.

Evidence Leads will have access to a wealth of research and tools to guide school improvement, from developing high quality training, disseminating practical strategies for the classroom, and accessing funding opportunities for the school. The role will also enable schools to realise a long-term vision for evidence engagement at all levels.
