Sports Premium
The Government now provides funding of £150 million per annum for primary school sport funding. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE.
Funding for schools is calculated by the number of primary-aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11) as of the annual schools census in January. In each year all schools with 17 or more primary-aged pupils will receive a lump sum of £8,000 plus a premium of £5 per pupil. The Government has doubled this for 2020/21 which means that Alexandra Park Primary School will receive £19610.
All schools will have to spend the sport funding on improving their provision of PE and sport and they have the freedom to choose how they do this. To have maximum impact on the pupils at Alexandra Park Primary School we will use this funding to:
